Growing up, the tooth fairy never existed. With my tooth tucked under my pillow, I'd wait for days--sometimes months in anticipation. Every morning when I awoke, my little fingers would slowly lurk under my pillow, looking for the shiny quarter that my teacher had taught us to look for. Unfortunately, Mrs. Fields failed to tell my parents of such a trick--and being the immigrant parents that they were, they would've laughed hysterically at anything remotely as weird as a tooth fairy.
It took my parents 10 years to acknowledge that they were supposed to be Mr. and Mrs. Tooth Fairy. I was sixteen by then.
Anyways, fast forward a few years and I here I am, on the eve of extracting two wisdoms out of my mouth. My stomach churns just thinking about it. Please pray for me. I'm scared shitless. (Sorry, God for swearing in this post).
And to make up for all those quarters that never showed up under my pillow, I've asked my parents for $25 (inflation). My dad, however, failed to realize that I was being sarcastic and actually handed over the cash. It's about time, dad....it's about time!!!

It IS about time, Dad! :) and I wish that I could give SJ a quarter... the going rate for teeth these days (or at least at our house) is $5.
It'll be over before ya know it, man. I'll take you out for Jello on Wednesday. :-) Hang in there, dude.
Ooh, I'm sorry you missed out on the tooth fairy, I'm sad for you. However, getting wisdom teeth out isn't all that bad. I've all mine out cept one. And they were out lickety split. And I didn't even need tylenol afterwards.
I send happy thoughts anyway!!
Wow ... what a great Dad you must have that he simply handed over the money. Very nice!
Hey ... best wishes on your wisdom tooth extraction. I've been there ... and done that. It wasn't pleasant ... but I'll bet not as bad as some of the critter experiences you've had in the jungle (I'm thinking about those leeches you experienced ... eeuuuuwwwww).
Dinner through a tube isn't great ... ah well!
Take Care!

LOL!! I love your dad for that! That is so cute :D
uuugh poor Ron :( I feel for you but just think of all the fun medication that come with it... and don't worry I've checked into it and you don't lose any wisdom you've acquired when you get those suckers pulled :)
LOL, too cute, Ron....You have me totally cracking up....LOL! Love that!
I'll keep you in my prayers. Wisdom tooth removal is no fun, especially two! My son just had his done and he healed quickly and was just fine. Really, only the first day is not so fun.
Good luck, Ron!
Hahaha. What can I say, Ron except YOU ROCK my world. Missed you dude but it is my fault that I haven't been visiting your blog....
What a cute story :) Hope you're doing alright-- I hated getting those teeth out! If it makes you feel better, the tooth fairy always creeped me out when I was a kid. Breaking and entering to steal teeth?!
Next time your in the mitten state give me a yell - this mom will give you a quarter . . lol
Young Travelers Mom,
Kristy
Toothfairies give quarters? Dude, I got like tokens for chuck-e-cheese, and i never event went there.
LOL Ron
I better go and request the same from my parents.. I grew up knowing that the tooth fairy and likes like santa claus don't exist... I used to wish that they were real. Always prefer fantasy more than reality.
Hope you're not in pain anymore!
Enjoy ur weekend!
You have a way of making us not only cry but also laugh at your posts. I like it when you write profound topics but I also love it when you write something light and funny.
What made me laugh even more is the fact that you are scared of tooth extraction but not with leeches. LOL!
Hope everything is okay now, Mr. Wisdomtoothless.
good times...:)
Hope the extraction went well...(as I hold my fingers in my mouth in terror)
I hated getting mine out. How do you feel without the extra wisdom?
Have a great weekend!
Hey bro! Gosh, it's been a while... Glad to see you're still doing great and kicking! Where are you heading to this time?
LOL your dad's a real sport. And I thought Father's Day is around the corner? Shouldn't you give him stuffs or you don't celebrate that in your part of the world?
You should have done the tooth thing here... my soon-to-be mother-in-law is a dentist, and she charges pretty reasonably :) Ah well, all the best, and please stay alive.
